Ores & Bars Market Analysis
Rune bars and Adamant bars command the highest prices and are the primary profit items from Blast Furnace. Iron ore is one of the most traded items in the entire game due to its use in Blast Furnace training. Gold ore sees steady demand from gold bar smithing (best Smithing XP). Coal is consumed in large quantities as a secondary ingredient for steel through rune bars. Ore and bar prices are heavily influenced by Blast Furnace activity — when Blast Furnace worlds are busy, ore demand rises and bar supply increases.
Frequently Asked Questions
What ores are most profitable to flip?
Runite ore and Adamantite ore typically have the best margins. Iron ore has the highest volume but thin margins. Coal is also very liquid. For bars, rune bars and adamant bars offer consistent profits.
How does Blast Furnace affect ore prices?
Blast Furnace converts ores to bars at half the normal coal cost, making it the primary driver of ore demand. When more players run Blast Furnace, ore prices rise and bar prices may dip due to increased supply. Check the Blast Furnace Calculator to see current profit margins.
Are bars or ores better to flip in OSRS?
Ores generally have higher volume and faster turnover. Bars have higher individual value and can have better margins but slower movement. For quick flips, ores win. For patient flips with more GP per trade, bars are worth considering.
